Conference Call Bridge
Tell Me More: Conference Call Bridge
Getting people together from different locations for a conference call doesn't have to be a painstaking process. You can use a conference call bridge to allow several individuals across multiple conference sites to share information and video in real time.

Heartland Conference Call Bridge Line Instructions for Participants
All parties dial-in to +1 (319) XXX-XXXX at the scheduled time. An automated system will answer and prompt you to enter the code. You may hear "music on hold" if the HOST code user has not unlocked the conference. Once you are in the conference room it will be quiet, unless someone else is talking. During the course of the conference, you may hear beeps. A single beep indicates someone has joined the conference (there are no entry beeps on the 150-Person conference bridge). You may hear a very faint click when someone leaves.

Building Your Own Conference Bridge
Conference calling is a poorly implemented feature on most telephone systems (do you even know how to set up a conference call on your PBX? if not, join the club). "Meet Me" conferencing systems and services make this much easier to do.

Conference Call Bridge
This free service must be scheduled in advance (see Ordering below). When using a bridge line, the first call must be placed from an on-campus line, from the same campus as the bridge number. However, other participants can call in from on or off campus. The first caller will hear continuous ringing until the second caller dials in. A "ring burst" will be heard when each subsequent caller joins the conference. Callers must each dial into the bridge on their own; callers already on the bridge cannot conference in another party. Attempting to use the conference/three-way call feature will lock the bridge and not allow any additional callers to join the bridge.

Conference Call Bridge
Roosevelt University's free conference call bridge provides toll-free telephone numbers that up to eight callers can conference into. Up to two separate 8-caller conference calls can be scheduled at the same time.

Conferencing Call Bridges
You can set up a conference call with your telephone for up to six parties with no degradation in quality. However, you may need to have a higher quality of line, allow a larger number to participate, or need participants to call into the conference. In the past, departments have received these types of conference capabilities from BellSouth and AT&T. Our PBX system has a conference bridge, so these same quality services can be provided from our campus.

Conference call bridge arrangement
A user terminal (10) initiates an internet protocol using session initiation protocol to interconnect a number of user terminals (11–13) in a conference call. Signaling connections (41, 42, and 43) are established between one user terminal and each of the plurality of user terminals. Common bearer formats are negotiated among the plurality of user terminals (113). If a common bearer format exists (115), the conference bridge is established for data (voice) transmission (127).
